The primary purpose of this course is to give participants a sound grounding in macroeconomic theory, build an understanding of how the aggregate economy works, how cyclical fluctuations are generated, what contributes to sustainable growth over the longer run, and what constitutes the major policy problems that fiscal and monetary authorities face today. The course is taught in English. However, there are some tutorials (Mentorien) offered in German, and you can also provide answers to the Final Examination in German. You need to register for the course through the Pruefungsamt. You can gain access to materials for this course, including recordings of lectures and classes (but not recordings of Mentorien) by registering for one Mentorium.
